for this image i just colourized the layer chaning the hue and saturation until i found a colour i was happy with.
Increase saturation without blocking out colours
After
with the original image make a new layer over the top. use the Gaussian blur tool under filter>blur>Gaussian blur and change the pixels to 5. then change the layers from normal to colour and boost the saturation to get rid of the blurred effect.
Changing colours of individual items
with this image i used the lasso tool to select certain parts of the image, then pressing ctrl J to make a newlayer i changed the hue and saturation slightly to make it a different colour.
